Before work begins
Quotes, workmanship and customer care
A clear quote makes it easier to plan your flooring. This page explains what to check; the scope, price and arrangements for your particular job are set out in your written quote.
Know what is included
Check the rooms and measured areas, product and colour, underlay, floor preparation, fitting, trims and transitions. Removal, disposal, furniture moving, stairs and difficult access should be discussed rather than assumed to be included. Tell us about leaks, uneven floors or other known problems before the measure.
Price, ordering and booking
Confirm the total price, whether GST applies and how it is shown, any deposit, payment dates and quote validity before accepting. Ask about material availability, delivery, booking dates and any conditions attached to a special price. A website enquiry does not itself place an order or reserve an installation date.
If you need to change or cancel a booking, contact Scott Flooring as soon as possible. Ask about the arrangements in your quote, particularly where materials have been ordered or cut for the job. No blanket cancellation fee or non-refundable-deposit rule is imposed by this page.
Preparation and changes
Agree who will move furniture and appliances and clear the working area. Customer-supplied flooring needs a suitability and quantity check. If lifting the old floor reveals extra work, the changed scope and price should be discussed and agreed before that extra work proceeds.
Do not disturb flooring or adhesive that may contain asbestos. Tell us before work starts; assessment and any required specialist work must be addressed before preparation or installation.
After installation
Ask about cleaning, furniture placement, any settling or adhesive-curing time, and the care instructions for your selected product. Product warranties and any agreed workmanship cover should be explained with your job documents.
Where the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act applies, its protections are additional to any product or workmanship warranty. Nothing on this website is intended to exclude those rights.
